"Making Ceramics in Shin-Chon"

Script

Sung Min : Hi, i'm Sung Min and I will introduce you to our project place. This is Shin-chon, the street of youth. After getting out Shin-chon station exit number 5, go straight two blocks, then you can find the ceramic stor named 'Clay Tree'.

Can you see the yellow glowing sign? We are here to make ceramic cups and draw paintings on it. Have you ever made ceramics? The reason why we choose to make ceramic is that it is the experience that people haven't usually and we can have our own products. So we think this is fun and cool activity.

Now I will notice you how to draw paintings on cup. First, sketch with the pencil and if you mistake erase the sketch with the sandpaper. And the sketch line will be disappear after baking and b careful with weak handle, because it can be broken because it is made of soil. Be careful!

Su Jie : As Sungmin said, we decided to make the cup, and also draw something on the cup. We decided to make this sketch. It’s JIMMY and the national flag of Costa rica and Korea. JIMMY has black hair, and thick eyebrow, also wears glasses.  And He said, ”WHAT THE FUCK!. 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!” All the times! And these are the flag of Costa rica and Korea.

I draw the same sketch as you see before. And I start to paint the Costa rica’s national flag. The two flags are holding their hands together. Isn’t it funny and feeling love or bromance?

Oops! I have a mistake on your lips. Sorry. Jimmy. Let me fix it. I think I should cover red on your whole mouth. Sorry. And as you can see, it is your face, not that perfect. But, it is you. Jimmy!

Jae Ho : This is clay which will be the main material of the cup we will be making. First spread the clay like this, and cut off this clay shape of circle. This will be the cup’s bottom like this. Then accumulate the clay which is made shape of row. Then smooth the surface until there are no crack(on surface). It's time to make a handle of the cup. Coat the water to the clay, then make some handle shape clay like this. And We will smooth the body part again to attach the handle.

Hyun Ju : We completed the shape of the cup. And we want to paint the cup with green color like this. And you may think this color doesn’t look like green but after baking the cup the color will be darker. After all of that you can stamp on the cup and I want to mark that this cup is ours. I’m sorry this is not English.

Sung Min : This place is famous restaurant '알쌈꼬꼬', hot place in the Shin-chon. I will notice you how to eat this. First, put the cabbage and put the chicken, put fish eggs together and mix with sauce, Yummy~

Jae Ho : It was so nice time to know about the procedure of making cup. It was so easy but it needs to much time to get the result because it needs to be baked in high temperature for long time. And It was so nice to have a nice dinner at sinchon, I'm pretty good. Thank you.

Su Jie : I didn’t expect to experience that speak in front of a lot of people. I painted ceramic cup. And also I eat “Alssamcoco” with fish eggs and something. These are very exciting experience for me. And I know that people didn’t care about what I said, or what I act. So, it is very good experience. Thank you!    

Sung Min : Today, I experience lots of fun things I really excited. For the first time, I made the ceramics and eat delicious food so i'm very happy now. I will remember this moment forever, thank you!

Hyun Ju : We made a cup from clay and it was an interesting experience for me because it reminds me my childhood playing with clay. During the process, the most interesting thing was making a cup colored with clay powder of such a color. And I ate many things. It was really delicious. Thank you.
